Microsoft Azure

Ratebay's RateCare360 platform is hosted entirely on Microsoft Azure, with our Edinburgh office connected via ExpressRoute for low-latency access to cloud-hosted clinical data. We are a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partner, enabling us to manage Azure environments on behalf of smaller NHS clients who prefer not to maintain their own Azure subscriptions.

Our Azure environment includes Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity management, Azure App Service for the RateCare360 web application, Azure SQL Database for structured patient data, and Azure Blob Storage for document management.

Network Security
Fortinet

Ratebay's perimeter network security is built on Fortinet's FortiGate platform. Our FortiGate 200F provides next-generation firewall capabilities including intrusion prevention, SSL inspection, and application-level filtering at our Edinburgh office boundary.

We hold Fortinet Partner status and leverage this relationship to assist clients who wish to standardise on Fortinet security infrastructure.

Wireless Infrastructure
Cisco Meraki

All Ratebay office and clinical-area wireless infrastructure runs on Cisco Meraki access points managed via the Meraki cloud dashboard. We deploy Meraki across client sites where wireless management needs to be centralised and remotely monitored without on-site engineering resource.

Cisco Meraki's cloud-managed approach aligns well with the distributed nature of NHS GP practice environments.

NHS Approved Supplier
NHS Digital

RateCare360 is listed on the NHS Digital Approved Supplier framework for patient administration systems, following a formal procurement assessment completed in July 2024. This approval enables NHS GP practices to procure RateCare360 via the NHS framework without individual procurement exercises.

Ratebay connects to NHS Digital data feeds via our HL7 integration layer, enabling clinical messaging between GP practice systems and NHS Spine-connected services. Our NHS Digital partnership is managed by James Fletcher, Clinical Systems Support Lead (j.fletcher@ratebay.co.uk).

Certification Body
BSI Group

Ratebay Care Technologies holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for our information security management system, awarded and annually audited by BSI Group. Our certification covers all data processing activities related to the RateCare360 platform, internal IT infrastructure, and managed services delivery.

Certification renewal audit is scheduled for Q1 2025. Our ISO 27001 programme is managed by Aisha Khan, Information Governance Manager (a.khan@ratebay.co.uk).

Infrastructure & Support Partners

Managed IT Support & Remote Infrastructure
ClearConnect Systems

ClearConnect Systems is Ratebay's primary third-party IT support and remote infrastructure management partner. Under our current support agreement (renewed November 2024), ClearConnect provides 24/7 remote monitoring and maintenance of Ratebay's server infrastructure, network equipment, and clinical systems environments.

ClearConnect engineers have secure remote access to Ratebay's internal infrastructure via a dedicated VPN connection, enabling them to respond to out-of-hours infrastructure incidents without requiring on-site presence. This arrangement provides our IT team with overnight and weekend coverage beyond standard business hours.

ClearConnect also supports a number of other NHS-adjacent healthcare IT organisations across Scotland, providing them with remote infrastructure monitoring services comparable to those they deliver for Ratebay. Their engineering team is based in Glasgow.

ClearConnect is the first point of escalation for out-of-hours infrastructure incidents. Staff should contact the Ratebay IT helpdesk (helpdesk@ratebay.co.uk) in the first instance; out-of-hours calls are automatically routed to ClearConnect's on-call team.

Backup & Recovery
Veeam Software

Ratebay uses Veeam Backup & Replication for all on-premises server backup, with weekly tape offsite rotation managed via our Edinburgh facilities team. Veeam provides the recovery point and recovery time objectives required by our NHS client data processing agreements.

Security Monitoring
Splunk

Ratebay's Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform is built on Splunk Enterprise, aggregating logs from our Windows Server estate, FortiGate firewall, VPN gateway, and web proxy. Our IT team reviews Splunk dashboards during business hours as part of our daily security operations.

Splunk is integrated with our ClearConnect monitoring arrangement for after-hours alerting on critical infrastructure events.
